Location: Qatar

Our Client, is a multinational company with Operations across Multiple Continents, over 20 countries and headquartered in India, specializing in total water management solutions for both municipal and industrial sectors. The company designs, constructs, and operates water and wastewater treatment plants, desalination plants, and provides sludge treatment. With a legacy of over 100 years, it offers a range of services including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) models, focusing on providing sustainable water solutions globally

About the role

The BD manager shall also identify, research, evaluate and pursue business development opportunities that will contribute to the company's short and long-term business objectives. Furthermore, the BD Manager shall assist in defining bidding strategies for IPP/IWPP opportunities including the negotiations of agreements with all stakeholder. Target geographies: Qatar/ GCC. The role also requires demonstrated leadership in transactions that have successfully reached financial close. Having experience in Water / Waste Water Treatment, Desalination, Water reclamation, Sludge treatment is a must.

Responsibilities-

  • Build Brand in new markets of Qatar/ GCC and enhance the value of the company in existing markets in identified geographies
  • Market research & analysis of all existing and upcoming markets in identified geographies
  • Identify and establish relationships with new business partners / financial institutions/ marketing networks as required to enhance business opportunities in existing and upcoming market
  • Develop Projects with the customers at a very early stage (at project scoping /feasibility / DPR stage), influence customers with the specification and design of company's as appropriate for Line of Credit projects and jobs on concession
  • Lead the liaison/interface with host/client organizations & stakeholders ranging from utility companies and their advisors / PMCs, line ministries, finance ministries, and debt management departments up to the premier's office seamlessly
  • Undertake and manage the necessary due diligence, risk analysis, and mitigation in sourcing/structuring of funds
  • Collaborate and facilitate the preparation of technically & commercially competitive bids
  • Achieve targeted order booking with contribution margin as per agreed targets
  • Support team during execution using customer relationships wherever appropriate like a key account manager
  • Networking: Participate in all identified key exhibitions / Seminars

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Engineering Graduate (Mechanical, Civil or Chemical)
  • 8- 10 years (Minimum 5 years in experience in Qatar/GCC) (Having experience in Water / Waste Water Treatment, Desalination, Water reclamation, Sludge treatment)
  • Demonstrated track record in: Projects handling : EPC, Operation & Maintenance, DBO or BOOT
  • Leading Tenders , Bids, and Proposals for water projects in Middle east
  • Leading transactions through to financial close.
  • Experience with multilateral, bilateral, and commercial lenders, preferably in emerging markets.
  • Strong exposure to projects in Qatar/ GCC
