Our client is a Japanese developer with large-scale infrastructure development capability in the energy, social, and transportation infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
Broad Function of the role
- Must have demonstrated a thorough understanding of development life cycle of Infrastructure/PPP projects
- Supporting transactions in the PPP sector / infrastructure market by implementing bid/development strategy and co-ordinating the approach to the client, subcontractors, equity and debt providers and other stakeholders.
- Assist the broader team in delivering PPP debt and equity, commercial and legal structuring, modelling, risk analysis, business case and investment analysis and relevant commercial and legal negotiations.
- Supporting the management of infrastructure project development including contract negotiation, financing, due diligence and transition into delivery.
- Additionally, the role may entail involvement of the candidate to provide their expertise on ad hoc projects like refinancings, concession extensions, buying and sell down of infrastructure assets.
- Provide mentoring and support to juniors, including detailed review of modelling and imparting lessons learnt and best practice modelling techniques.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Be able to lead various workstreams (with little to no support from others): Tax, Investment opportunity evaluation and analysis, Accounting, Financial modelling, Technical due diligence, Other – including submission management, stakeholder and govt policy
- Be able to work on other workstreams (with support from senior team members): Business development in infrastructure sector, Debt (structuring, negotiations, documentation), Equity (structuring, negotiations, documentation), Legal aspects
- To be able to provide support others (junior team members): Tax, Accounting, Financial modelling, Other
- Provide unprompted insights and scenario analysis to assist bids
- To support the financial structuring and closing for infrastructure projects and/or procurements
- Provide project and program management assistance to clients and project teams on large projects
Educational Qualification & Experience
- University degree highly regarded (finance, commerce, economics, accounting, engineering, science or similar)
- CA/CPA/CFA or similar is not required but looked upon favourably.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience. Ideally this would be in the development and/or actual investment of private sector infrastructure (particularly project financing or PPPs including hands-on experience in managing due diligence, financial modelling, mitigating risks, negotiating term sheets and finance documentation and related project finance activities).
