Manager- Development Advisory

Their experience spans across multiple sectors including Power (Conventional & Renewables), Water, Waste & Waste-Water, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Social Infrastructure (Education & Healthcare), Green Hydrogen, and Development Advisory.
Key Requirements
The Manager should have excellent industry experience and knowledge in the project development cycle for power generation and/or water projects. He is expected to possess deep techno-commercial understanding of projects on the below aspects:
- Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC)
- Operation and Maintenance (O&M)
- Project Management
- Permitting, Land procurement
- Contracts – EPC, O&M, Concession...etc.
- Familiarity in project financing is a plus
Job Responsibilities
Project Execution:
- Manage overall transaction, including coordinating the tasks, actions, inputs, and deliverables across all work streams of Technical, Legal, Financial, Operational etc
- Prepare and maintain the implementation schedule for the project
- Regularly update all stakeholders through regular weekly calls / interim meetings
- Support in the selection, the appointment, and the management of other Advisors
- Coordination of all advisors
Project Agreements:
- Evaluation of key project agreements from a technical and commercial perspective to identify key risk factors, their potential commercial impact on sponsors and mitigation strategies
- Ensure alignment of technical, financial, and commercial terms and conditions across all project documents
- Negotiate Project Agreements with the relevant stakeholders with the support of other advisors
EPC and O&M:
- Define and implement EPC and O&M Procurement process including preparation of RFP, shortlisting of contractors (or subcontractors), manage clarifications, evaluation of the proposals and negotiating with the contractors on the received proposals (all in coordination with other advisors)
- Support in negotiating the EPC and O&M Term sheet/Contract (including alignment with the other Project Agreements)
- Support to finalize liquidated damages structures along with the quantum of such liquidated damages under the relevant concession/offtake agreements as well as under the EPC and O&M contract
- Prepare the O&M budget/costing models and suggest potential cost optimization strategies, including benchmarking of costs with relevant precedents
Others:
- Leading or supporting permitting activities, including identifying, negotiating & and obtaining all required consents to invest in build & and operate projects and related businesses
- Support sponsors with their internal approval presentation for the project
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Academic Degree- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering/management from an accredited college or university
- Work Experience - 7+ years of proven work experience as a developer or EPC Contractor, with a strong preference for a minimum of one successful emerging market financial close as a member of a development team; or experience of similar consulting activities
- Experience in greenfield/brownfield developments, ideally gained in emerging markets
- Experience in working with international developers and multilateral/bilateral lending institutions
- Experience of working with lawyers, engineering, insurance, environmental and other consultants, as well as with EPC, O&M and OEM contractors
- Relevant power or water industry experience
- Willingness to travel frequently
