Role: Vice President Finance

Our Client is a leading UAE utility, which owns and operates power and water transmission and distribution assets.

Main Purpose of Role
To oversee the financial strategy, operations, and performance of the client. To be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. To drive financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals, objectives, and growth plans
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans
- Oversee financial analysis, performance measurement, and reporting to provide insights into client's financial health and performance
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk, to safeguard client's financial assets
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls
- Manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and investment strategies, to optimize cash resources and maximize returns
- Oversee banking relationships, debt financing, and capital structure decisions
- Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and promote operational efficiency
- Implement financial systems and technologies to streamline processes and enhance financial reporting capabilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
- Ensure preparation and implementation of the annual operational plan for Business Units/Department/Section in accordance with client's strategic plan
- Ensure implementation of operational performance indicators
- Achieve Emiratization percentage in line with the client's plans and policies in coordination with the relevant division
- Ensure that employees receive sufficient specialized training to develop their behavioural and technical skills in coordination with Training & Development Department
- Supervising and providing support, continuous guidance to employees regarding their roles and job tasks, and constant follow-up of their performance
- Ensure that employees carry out the required tasks in accordance with established procedures
- Review, improve and develop the procedures, processes and policies of the Business Unit/Division/department/section in accordance with the standards followed in client and ensure their implementation
- Work to present initiatives that will contribute to developing performance of the Business Unit/Division/department/section and employees and ensure their implementation
- Enhancing the concept of creativity and innovation among the team and motivating them to participate in submitting suggestions within the activities of the division/department/section
- Promoting the concept of institutional sustainability motivating them to participate in submitting proposals that serve the activities of the directorate/department/section in line with the strategic directions of the client
- Ensuring that practices are compatible with corporate excellence standards and ensuring that all necessary excellence requirements are provided
- Ensuring the implementation of client policies that guarantee the preservation of the confidentiality and privacy of the client's data
- Applying behavioral rules in accordance with professional standards and general ethics
- Ensuring the implementation of policies regarding security and safety standards
- Implementation of any assignments or tasks assigned by the line manager
Experience, Qualifications & Requirements
Academic Degree:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
- Master's degree in a related field is preferred
Experience:
- 12–16 years in financial management, accounting roles (or 8-10 years with a Master's)
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk management.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and financial Required knowledge management software.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, accounting standards, and best practices.
